Begin by making a batch of simple syrup, which is made by simmering equal parts sugar and water. Heat until the liquid is clear and the sugar dissolves. You will know it’s ready when there are no more sugar grains. Apparently a tub of dirty water and red cinnamon candies may have caused the festive colour, though you won’t find any of that around here! Fresh and fruity and delicious is what we’re going for.
